Angie and Eva seem very much alike!! They are certainly feisty, but hopefully that will make them strong, confident women when they are older... A little "moxie" is a good thing! :)

My daughter is inquisitive and relentless, and I just know this situation is right around the corner for us. It will take some of the fun away, I'm afraid, but it is inevitable.
When I was almost four, I was becoming very suspicious that my father was Santa Claus. I was asking too many questions. I knew something was up. But then on Christmas morning, I woke up to find that Santa had left his hat on the sofa in our living room. I was totally floored that out of all the children in the world, Santa had left his hat at MY house. My dad bought himself a few more years of myth with that little trick.
Nice story. Thanks for sharing it.

I can definitely relate to this, Kerri. My daughter is in love with me today. She drew a picture of me surrounded by a giant heart and stuck it on the refrigerator. Then she said she wants to marry me and Spiderman and her imaginary pet shark, Jaws. Now that will make an interesting family portrait!

So my 9 year-old son still wants to marry mommy. He's in full Oedipal mode. Honestly, I kind of enjoy all the attention he gives. When he was 4 he wanted to give me a ring from the gum ball machine, of course with me paying for it. I will come to miss this elongated stage. Someday I will no longer be "da bomb" and just plain mom.

Wow Paul: "sometimes you show you’re a good parent by admitting that sometimes there are things you have to see to it they get by letting someone else provide them." What a brave and loving statement.
I don't know if I agree that women are the stronger half because it looks like we handle parenting better- you have to remember that their whole lives, women are "trained" to see themselves as others and wives. I mean, little boys and girls play house and what's the first thing the boys do? Leave for work. lol.
And don't minimize your role in your daughters' lives, ever. They might need different things from you, or get different things than their mom provides, but I think kids need both parents to do their personal best, and it's something they understand when they're older. My childhood was not idyllic, but I know I was loved, and I know my parents did the best they could and that counts for a lot.
