My name is Wendy Fontaine. I am a freelance writer, a newspaper columnist and a graduate student working toward her masters degree in creative writing. I’ve been a single mother for almost three years now. I won’t lie; it has been the toughest job in the world. But it has also been the most rewarding, inspiring and profound thing that has ever happened to me.
After my divorce, I started writing a newspaper column, called Party of Two, about life as a single mom. Writing about my experience has been empowering, and hearing from readers who have their own stories to share has been wonderful. One letter in particular inspired me to create this website. It was from jail, written by a single dad who missed his adopted son.
Now I’m hoping that some of you will become writers and share your own personal stories here at PerseveringParents.com. This site is for you, single mothers and fathers. We all have stories to tell. Let’s hear yours.
