This Dinner is a Winner…

Yummy dinner. Pesto, tomato and provolone on ciabatta bread. Best part: my four year old made it. And she’s sitting at the dinner table right now, gobbling it up and feeling very proud of herself for making a meal. My sometimes-picky eater has even asked for seconds.

Not only did she make dinner, she also wrote out the grocery list and helped me scan our items at the checkout counter. She wrestled one bag of groceries up the front steps to our apartment and even helped me put a few boxes of noodles on the low shelves of the cabinets (OK, I had to ask her for help several times, but you can’t have everything, right?)

I’m amazed at how helpful she was, and how proud she was of the meal that she prepared. I think we might do this more often.

Now, what are the odds I can get her to do the dishes?

Do you make dinner with your kids? What do you make? I would love to hear all about it!
